Egham, UK, 12 July 2021 –Spectris plc, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Concurrent Real-Time, Inc., a global provider of high-performance, real-time computational hardware and software solutions, having received all regulatory approvals.
From today, Concurrent Real-Time becomes part of HBK – Hottinger Brüel & Kjær, marking the completion of the transaction in line with its strategy to enhance and grow its market-leading simulator platform businesses and fully integrate hardware-in-the-loop (‘HiL’) technology.
Joe Vorih, CEO of HBK, says “Our strategy remains clear – to become the preferred partner to our customers as they look to accelerate product development and optimize sensing to improve their products. Both virtual testing and physical testing are critical to the acceleration of product development, and the acquisition of Concurrent-RT and establishing our Virtual Test Division significantly strengthens our technology solution and customer offering on this journey.”
Concurrent Real-Time, together with VI-grade and Imtec Engineering, will constitute the “Virtual Test Division” within HBK. The Division will focus on providing complete solutions to virtually test products throughout the entire development cycle, helping companies accelerate innovation, reduce time-to-market, and improve their competitive advantage. The synergy of these businesses will build on their market-leading positions in simulation software, simulators and hard-real-time computing solutions, broadening the product portfolio while improving delivery capability and reach in the high-growth R&D markets within automotive, and aerospace and defense.
For many decades, HBM Test & Measurement and Brüel & Kjær have been trusted across multiple industries to deliver highly accurate technologies and expertise in test and measurement and sound and vibration. In 2019 the two companies joined forces as HBK – Hottinger, Brüel & Kjær to form the world’s foremost provider of integrated test, measurement, control, and simulation solutions.
